Fee types on your settlement

Updated 19 Aug 2026

Your Amazon payout is your sales minus a stack of fees. Knowing what each one is makes the reconciliation far easier to read.

The main deductions

  • Referral fee. A percentage of the item price, set by category. A wrong category means a wrong percentage.
  • Closing fee. A flat fee per unit sold, which varies by price band and fulfilment method.
  • Weight handling. For FBA, charged by the measured weight and size band. This is the most common source of overcharges.
  • Storage fee. Charged for inventory held in Amazon's warehouses, higher during peak months.

Reversals

When an order is returned, most fees should be reversed. Reconciliation checks that each reversal actually happened, because a missing reversal is quietly your money.

Fees change over time. MiniTaka tracks the rate card by date, so an order from March is checked against March's rates, not today's.
